  • Meet Reds Hall of Famer Jake Beckley

    September 23 - 5:30pm Reds Hall of Fame Theater

    Join Reds Historian Greg Rhodes and Jake Beckley (as portrayed by Cincinnati Enquirer columnist John Erardi) for a trip back in time to revisit Jake's life and times. A member of the Reds Hall of Fame's 2014 Induction Class and one of the most colorful players in Reds history, "Eagle Eye" Beckley starred at first base for the Reds from 1897 - 1903. His .325 in a Reds uniform is the third-highest career mark in franchise history. Beckley's seven seasons in Cincinnati were part of a stellar 20-year career that earned him induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1971.

    Visit the Reds Hall of Fame on Saturday, October 25 for the Hall of Fame's Fan Appreciation Day celebration featuring an appearance by Reds Hall of Famer Ron Oester and authors Joe and Jack Heffron who will be signing copies of their book, "The Local Boys: Hometown Players for the Cincinnati Reds." In addition to these exciting autograph opportunities, the Hall will be offering membership specials, merchandise discounts, the chance to win great prizes on the Wheel of Fame and free swings in the Reds Hall of Fame Batting Cages Presented by Beacon Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine. Tickets are also available the Major League Clubhouse Tours which allow fans to visit the Reds clubhouse at 12:30 and 2:30 and the Scotts Great American Ball Park tours at 11:30 and 1:30. A native Cincinnatian, Oester played his entire professional career in the Reds organization and was inducted into the Reds Hall of Fame earlier this summer. Visitors can receive one autograph with the purchase of museum admission and a $5.00 autograph ticket. Autographs are free for museum members. Limit one autograph per visitor.

  • "The Local Boys" Book Signing

    Authors Joe and Jack Heffron will sign copies of their book, "The Local Boys: Hometown Players for the Cincinnati Reds," from 11:00 - 1:00 at the Reds Hall of Fame. Published this spring, "The Local Boys" explores the unique stories of each of the over 100 players who were born or raised in the Greater Cincinnati area before playing all or parts of their Major League careers in a Reds uniform. From Pete Rose to Barry Larkin to Ron Oester, to lesser-known players whose careers have often been overlooked, this exhaustively researched book is an essential addition to every Reds fan's library and serves as an invaluable extension to the Hall of Fame's "Hometown Reds" exhibit. Copies of "The Local Boys" are available for purchase at the Reds Hall of Fame.

    Former Reds outfielders Eddie Milner and Gary Redus will sign autographs at the Reds Hall of Fame on Saturday, September 27 from 11:30AM - 1:00PM in the Hall of Fame's Great Teams Gallery. One of the game's top defensive outfielders, Eddie Milner was the Reds' Opening Day centerfielder in 1983 and 1984 and appeared in 703 games for the club from 1980 - 1986 including 23 games when he returned to the Redsin 1988 after spending the 1987 season with the Giants. Over the course of his Reds career, Milner stole 135 bases, leading the team in steals with 18 in 1982 and 41 in 1983. He finished in the top ten in the National League in steals twice during his Reds career. A Red from 1982 - 1985, Gary Redus was also known for his base stealing abilities, leading the Reds thefts in 1984 and 1985 when he stole 48 in each season. He ranked in the top ten in steals in the National League each season from 1983 - 1985. Overall, he stole 146 bases during his Reds career and 322 in his 13-year Major League career that included stops with the Phillies, White Sox, Pirates and Rangers. Visitors can receive one autograph from each player with the purchase of a museum admission ticket and a $5.00 autograph ticket. Autographs are free for museum members. Limit one autograph per visitor for each player.
