Current construction near Progressive Field

The Ohio Department of Transportation is getting set to re-open the second new span as part of the Inner Belt Bridge project, which by next month will allow five lanes of traffic to flow both eastbound and westbound!

In the interim, though, Tribe fans will be greeted by slight disruptions to a popular route to Progressive Field. The details:

  • The East Ninth Street exit on I-90 Eastbound will close Friday morning at 10AM, though Sunday at 11AM.
  • I-90 Eastbound traffic will close at 8PM Friday night, through Sunday at 11AM.
  • Tips to get to Progressive Field on time:
    • Plan ahead and allow yourself extra time to navigate around these closures
    • Exit I-90 Eastbound at West 25 or West 44th streets, or take I-490 to I-77 North to East Ninth Street
    • Traffic from West (I-90) and South (I-71, SR 176) will be diverted to West 25th/West 44th streets, and to the alternate (I-490 to I-77 North).
  • More Info

There are three current projects that have potential impact for fans traveling to and from Progressive Field for Tribe games:

  • East 9th Street is open to inbound traffic ONLY. Those who use East 9th outbound to access I-77 south should use East 14th Street instead. The East 9th Street ramp to I-90 west is OPEN. This one-way condition will remain until about mid-September.
  • Prospect Avenue is down to two lanes as it undergoes resurfacing.
  • Public Square is closed.
