In 2008, Cleveland Indians Charities established a $50,000 youth baseball and softball grant program. With support from Majestic Steel, this Baseball Diamond Improvement Grant will benefit Northeast Ohio teams and leagues in need of new bleachers, backstops, fences and other equipment. The goal of this program is to assist league funding, programming, and renovation of playing fields.
Since 2007, the Cleveland Indians have provided a means for over 25 youth baseball and softball leagues to raise money by partnering with the Tribe. Approximately 30,000 group tickets have been sold by baseball and softball leagues as a fundraising mechanism to improve equipment, provide uniforms and make necessary changes to the fields they play on. In addition to providing fundraising options, the Cleveland Indians have opened their doors to these valued partners by providing unique and exciting opportunities for players, friends and families. Whether it be a pre-game parade at Progressive Field, utilizing the indoor batting cages, throwing out the first pitch or meeting Indians Manager Manny Acta, we've got the bases covered!
If your league, team or organization would like to join the Cleveland Indians B.A.S.E. program and provide a means to participate in these events please call the Cleveland Indians at 216.420.HITS.
