  • Indians Community Outreach Mission Statement
The Cleveland Indians connection and commitment to our neighbors reach far beyond the walls of Progressive Field; it extends to the hearts and homes of the many people that support our team. Whether on the field or off the field, the Indians work rigorously to improve the quality of life and share the love of baseball with our community. Through Community Outreach programs and Cleveland Indians Charities, the Indians are dedicated to supporting programs, groups, and activities that make a positive impact on our fans, especially the young fans, of Northeast Ohio.
Cleveland Indians Charities (CIC)

CIC Established in 1989, Cleveland Indians Charities (CIC) is a self-sustaining charitable organization that concentrates on creative partnerships with select organizations in the community. Through fundraising, CIC provides the opportunity to jointly create and execute youth educational and recreational opportunities. These programs help young people learn to play the game of baseball, develop necessary life skills, learn responsibility, and develop confidence to face today's hurdles.

Since 1989, CIC has donated more than $6.0 million to youth-oriented agencies and organizations of Northeast Ohio. CIC has established relationships with several local organizations that focus on youth education and youth recreation. The following organizations benefit from a continued partnership with CIC:
  • Cleveland Metropolitan School District High School Baseball and Softball Programs
  • Cleveland Baseball Federation, Larry Doby Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities Program (RBI)
  • Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland
The monies donated by CIC have been raised through a variety of fund-raising events. In addition, a significant portion of the total raised came from the generosity of Cleveland Indians players, coaches, front office and corporate partners.

The Cleveland Indians organization and its players have a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the youth of Northeast Ohio. It is an opportunity and responsibility we embrace.

CIC and Flashes of Hope Partner for Kick-It
Kick It

Cleveland Indians Charities (CIC) and Flashes of Hope partnered to present a new campaign called "Kick It", which will give a chance for young Tribe fans to play kickball in the outfield of Progressive Field with their favorite Indians players and help children with cancer.

Throughout the summer and with parental permission, kids can register teams to hold kickball games in their communities to raise money from July until September. Teams of kids will then be chosen to play in "Kick It" games at Progressive Field post-game during five Kids Fun Days in August and September beginning with Sunday, August 2. All proceeds to benefit Pediatric, Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer Research.

Kick-It is a national grassroots fundraising campaign, sponsored by Flashes of Hope, that unites communities in the fight against pediatric cancer through a simple game-kickball.
