General
Q: What is the Cleveland Indians Fantasy Camp?
A: The Cleveland Indians Fantasy Camp is a week-long baseball camp for men and women over 30 years of age; all proceeds from camp benefit Cleveland Indians Charities. Participants will spend a week playing and talking baseball alongside numerous former Indians greats at the team's brand new Spring Training Facility in Goodyear, AZ. Physical activity is required, as there is a 7-Game schedule which culminates with a Championship Game. All teams will also play a game against the pros.
Q: What is the average age and skill level of a Fantasy Camp participant?
A: The majority of campers fall within the range of mid 40s to mid 60s. While the skill level is obviously varied, the most important element is fun. Whether participants are in their 30s, 40s, 50s or 60s, the games are both fun and competitive for all.
Q: Am I required to live in Ohio to attend camp?
A: Absolutely not. Tribe fans from all over the country and occasionally other countries attend camp.
Q: What do I need to bring?
A: All you need is your glove, rubber cleats (no metal spikes allowed), and if you have your own special wood bat, you may bring that along, too. This is the Major Leagues, thus no aluminum bats are allowed! Professional quality bats will be provided. If you do choose to travel with your own wood bats, we encourage you to contact your airline regarding proper travel instructions.
Q: What is the appropriate dress while at camp?
A: You will spend most of the days on the field in your baseball uniform, but off the field dress is casual (jeans, shorts, polo shirts, etc.). Favorite Fans should also dress comfortably and for the weather. At Friday night's Awards Banquet, the dress is a little more formal. Most men choose to wear a sport coat and most women a suit or skirt. Ties are optional.
Q: What is the cost of Fantasy Camp?
A: Camp is obtained through a $4,900 donation to Cleveland Indians Charities (CIC). A portion of each donation may be tax deductible. Following camp, participants will be provided a letter from CIC that we encourage be sent to their tax advisors.
Q: As a camper, what do I receive for my $4,900 donation?
A: Click here for a complete list of details. In short, we take care of most everything: round trip group flight, ground transportation needs, luxurious hotel accommodations at the Renaissance Glendale Resort and Spa, breakfast and lunch daily at the ballpark, select dinners throughout the week, complete authentic uniforms, expert trainers to keep you on the field, a clubhouse staff to care for your uniforms, and more!
Q: As a veteran camper, what do I receive for my $4,700 donation?
A: Everything listed above excluding a complete new uniform. Veteran campers WILL receive a personalized home white Indians jersey, but must bring their remaining uniform pieces to receive the deduction (blue jersey, white pants, mock turtlenecks, and dugout jacket). Veterans may fill out a Uniform Accessories Form to purchase separately any of those uniform pieces.
Q: Can a camper bring along a family member or spouse?
A: Yes, campers may purchase a "Favorite Fan" package, which provides a person of his or her choice (usually a spouse or family member) with an all-inclusive trip to Goodyear, AZ. The "Favorite Fan" is at camp from Saturday to Saturday, flying round-trip and rooming with the camper. Breakfast and lunch at the ballpark will be provided, along with a ticket to Saturday's welcome reception, Sunday's special "Favorite Fan" dinner, Thursday's Championship BBQ, and Friday's Awards Banquet.
A limited number of Favorite Fan packages are available, and the cost is $2,000. "Favorite Fan" packages must be confirmed by October 1, 2008 to insure the two parties can fly together on the same flight.
Q: What is Photo Day?
A: A still photograph of your team will be taken Monday morning and will be available for review the following day. Following camp, each camper is provided a Team Photo, as well as 50 personalized baseball cards. Supplementary photos will be made available throughout the week at an additional cost.
Q: I signed up for camp but an emergency prevents me from attending. What happens to my balance?
A: Fantasy Camp policy dictates that your balance be transferred to the following year's camp. If future camp participation becomes impossible, we will deduct all incurred hard costs and then refund your remaining balance. Hard costs include uniforms, bats, airfare, gifts and administration fees. Items will be sent following the conclusion of camp.
Q: Is a portion of Fantasy Camp tax-deductible?
A: A portion of the Fantasy Camp may be tax deductible. Following camp, Cleveland Indians Charities will provide a receipt for income tax purposes. Your tax deduction will be the excess of the camp price over the fair value of the goods and services you will receive.
* Cleveland Indians Charities suggests and encourages you to please consult your tax advisor to determine whether a deduction of any portion is allowable. The exact amount of your deduction will vary depending on your tax bracket or other personal tax circumstances as each person's tax situation is unique, whether you file as a single person or jointly.

A:

d. Fitted hat - Range in sizes from 6 7/8 to 8.
