The Cleveland Indians Wood Bat Fall League is a forum in which serious high school players can continue their development in a competitive environment.
Participants in the Wood Bat Fall League are encouraged to solidify their overall baseball skills, by creating position flexibility, developing secondary pitches and practicing new base-running tactics.
The league consists of seven Sunday doubleheaders over an eight week period from August 25 to October 20 (no games over Labor Day weekend.) There will be two leagues for the 2013 season: a Junior Varsity (9th and 10th graders) and Varsity league (Juniors and Seniors.)
All participants will receive a free Indians uniform and a wood bat to use in the league.
Games will take place at Lutheran West High School in Rocky River and Bohlken Park in Fairview Park.
The league will host an All-Star game at Progressive Field on September 21, 2013. The top performers as voted on by our coaches and staff will represent their fall teams. The experience includes exclusive access to professional facilities, and a big-league game presentation, including a working PA system and scoreboard video.
ACE Baseball Ltd, will provide all coaches for the Fall League and all coaches for the Fall League will have a background in coaching and player development, having played or coached at the college level or beyond.
Each player that takes part in Summer Camps will receive a ticket voucher for two tickets to see the Indians play on Saturday, September 21st against the Houston Astros. Prior to the game, each player is invited to participate in a Pre-Game Parade around the warning track of Progressive Field, where they may have a chance to interact with Cleveland Indians players and staff.
