- Q: Who may participate in this One Day Baseball Experience?
- A: This experience is open to men and women ages 25 and up.
- Q: What will participants receive for $995?
- A: Participants will play two (2) games on Progressive Field while interacting with select Indians alumni as team managers. Participants will receive a complete uniform, ballpark lunch, commemorative gifts, and their name on the Progressive Field scoreboard.
- Q: What do I need to bring?
- A: All you need is your glove and spikes (metal spikes are not permitted). Wood bats, baseballs, catcher's equipment and helmets will be provided. Should you have your own special wood bat, you are welcome to bring it along, too. No aluminum bats; this is the Major Leagues! All participants must sign a waiver form before commencing physical activity.
- Q: Where should I park?
- A: Parking on the day of the event is available in numerous, privately owned lots near the ballpark. Should you choose to park on city streets, please be aware of any potential violations.
- Q: What is the game length and event format?
- A: Each team will play a doubleheader and will alternate being the home team and visiting team. Games will last seven (7) innings or two hours, and will be scheduled during the morning and afternoon of Saturday, July 11th. Teams will receive a rest break in between games.
- Q: Can I play on the same team as a friend or family member?
- A: Teams will be made up of 10 players, and participants may register individually or with a group of up to 10 people. Teammate requests should be indicated to the Indians representative during the registration process.
- Q: How will teams be formed?
- A: Once the sign up deadline passes, participants will be randomly drafted to form teams. Participants will be notified by mail of their team roster and game times for July 11th.
- Q: What pros will lead the One Day Baseball Experience at Progressive Field?
- A: Len Barker, Joe Charboneau, Kevin Rhomberg and Bob Feller will be the likely pros. Please understand this list could change due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts.
- Q: What pieces make up the uniform?
- A: Each participant will receive two replica jerseys (white and blue), along with one pair of baseball pants, one hat, one belt, and one pair of socks. The backs of both jerseys can be customized to include your last name and number of choice for an additional $100.
- Q: How do I ensure my uniform will fit correctly?
- A: The Indians representative can answer any specific uniform questions. In short, the jerseys and undershirts are made in sizes M-2XL and the pants are sized by waist and inseam length (from the crotch area to the ball of the ankle). To ensure your comfort, we suggest you NOT estimate low on your sizes. Both the hat and belt are adjustable.
- Q: How will I obtain my uniform?
- A: In the week leading up to July 11th, participants will have the opportunity to pick up their complete uniforms at Progressive Field. Day and times will be announced. Participants who are out of town or cannot attend the uniform pick up will receive their uniforms the morning of July 11th.
- Q: Will the Progressive Field clubhouses and batting cages be open?
- A: The clubhouses and batting cages will be closed. We kindly ask that participants arrive in uniform ready to play. A changing area will be available at the ballpark for participants who cannot obtain their uniforms during the uniform pick up.
- Q: Can my friends and family attend?
- A: Yes, we encourage your family and friends to come watch you play. All persons will be admitted to Progressive Field free of charge and may sit anywhere throughout designated sections of the seating bowl. Please understand that for the safety of all involved, only uniformed participants may access the playing field, warning track area, and dugouts.
- Q: Will concession stands be open?
- A: Concession stands will not be open. Please understand that Progressive Field guidelines indicate that only single serving snacks and juice boxes may be brought into the ballpark. Friends and family members are encouraged to purchase a lunch ticket and join the participant for their special ballpark lunch. Lunch tickets are $20 each and will be sold day of event. Lunch will be served in the Club Lounge.
- Q: May I bring my camera?
- A: Persons are free to bring their video or digital cameras inside Progressive Field. Please also note Indians Team Photographers will photograph the event and create a One Day Baseball Experience at Progressive Field Photo CD. Participants may sign up to purchase this memorable keepsake at any time during the August 2nd event. Cost will be $75.
- Q: When is the deadline to sign up?
- A: Registrations will be accepted on a first come first serve basis until event is full; persons will then be placed on a wait list.
- Q: Is there a Rain Date?
- A: Should inclement weather prohibit the One Day Baseball Experience from being completed, the Rain Date would be Sunday, July 12th. A One-Day Experience Hotline number will be provided where participants can retrieve up-to-date weather information.
- Q: Is my balance refundable?
- A: If an injury or emergency prevents a participant from participating in the event, his or her balance may be transferred to the following year's event. These situations will be addressed on an individual basis.
