CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Indians today announced the club has purchased the contract of RHP Jensen Lewis from the AAA Buffalo Bisons. Lewis assumes the vacated roster spot of RHP Edward Mujica, who was optioned to AAA Buffalo over the break.

Lewis, 23, is another product of the club's Player Development System, splitting the 2007 season in relief between AA Akron and AAA Buffalo. The Cincinnati, OH native began the year at Akron where he went 2-0 w/a save and a 1.85 ERA in 24 relief outings (39.0IP, 27H, 8ER, 13BB,49K) and was promoted to AAA Buffalo on June 14. At Buffalo he has posted a record of 1-0 w/a save and a 1.38 ERA in 10 games, eight of which were scoreless(13.0IP, 5H, 2R/ER, 4BB, 12K, .116avg). Combined on the year he has limited minor league hitters to a .177 (32-181, 3HR) average against and since May 1 his ERA stands at 0.68 (40.0IP, 18H, 3ER, 48K).

Lewis was the 102nd overall player selected in the 2005 First-Year Player Draft after the Indians picked him in the "Sandwich" portion of the third round. He spent the 2005 and 2006 seasons in a starting role and was converted to relief for the 2007 campaign. Lewis will wear #50 and can be found on page #311 of the 2007 Indians Information and Record Book.

To allow room for Lewis on the 40-man roster the Indians transferred OF David Dellucci (left hamstring surgery) from the 15-day to the 60-day disabled list.
