The Empire Strikes Out ... the side

Detroit has been visited by a presence from a long time ago and a galaxy far, far away.

Jedi-turned-villain Darth Vader took the mound Saturday at Comerica Park to throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Tigers and Yankees wielded their lightsabers -- er, bats.

The circle is now complete. When he first picked up a baseball, Vader was but a learner. Now, he is the master.

Yes, the force is strong with this one. Vader has that menacing look that would make even the mightiest hitter tremble. And don’t forget the Storm Troopers at his guard – what, you thought he would venture near the other Evil Empire alone ?

Just remember, you can't win, Darth. If you strike them down, they will become more powerful than you could possibly imagine.
