Back in his days as the closer for the Reds, Danny Graves took his locker area to the next level.

In addition to occupying two lockers, Graves also had a desk put in to hold a laptop computer needed to supply the rock music that would blare through the clubhouse speakers.

Things are bit scaled down for Graves now that he's a middle reliever for the Indians, but his space still turns up a few interesting items the right-hander feels are necessary for clubhouse survival. What follows is a peek into that space, complete with Graves' comments on the items:

PICTURE OF HIS DAD, JIM
"It's a picture of a portrait I had painted of him after he passed away during Spring Training in '99. That year was my first full year as the closer for the Reds. So around the painting are all the balls from my saves that season [27 in all]. That's probably the coolest thing I've got in my locker. I hang it up everywhere I go."

SHOES UPON SHOES UPON SHOES
"I have about 12 pairs in here. I just like shoes. I like to change it up every so often. I go with whatever's comfortable or whatever is going to look good that way."

PAINT PENS
"These are for my shoes, because I like to decorate my shoes every now and then. A lot of my shoes have a lot of red, and I wasn't quite sure about some of the red, so I colored some of them black. I just get bored, so I figure it's something to do."

STRIDEX FACE WIPES
"I like to clean my face every day before the game starts. It gets so oily when you sweat a lot and there's a lot of dirt flying all around."

FLOSS
"I floss my teeth every day. It's important."

BABY WIPES
"You go to all these different clubhouses, and sometimes they have that John Wayne [read: rough] toilet paper. So these come in handy."
