Tigers at the plate: Ramon Santiago's three-run home run off Chuck Lofgren highlighted a six-run fourth inning for Detroit. Marcus Thames' two-run double capped the big rally, which also included hits from Neifi Perez, Omar Infante and Craig Monroe.

Indians at the plate: Victor Martinez's RBI single got the Indians on the board in the first, but Andy Marte came up empty later in the inning with the bases loaded. David Dellucci cranked out his first homer of the spring off Chad Durbin in the fourth.

Tigers on the mound: Kenny Rogers, making his first start of the spring, gave up an early unearned run after a Thames error. He gave up another run in the second when he got Grady Sizemore to hit into a double play with runners on the corners. The right-handed Durbin's only costly mistake in two innings of work was the ball he left up to Dellucci.

Indians on the mound: C.C. Sabathia, also making his first Grapefruit League appearance, looked solid in two scoreless innings of work, holding the Tigers to a walk and a pair of hits with three strikeouts. Closer Joe Borowski made his Indians debut, working the third inning and giving up an unearned run on one hit. Lofgren, in big-league camp for the first time, had a rough debut, as he was beat up for six runs, five earned, on five hits in just one-third of an inning.

Grapefruit League records: Tigers 4-1; Indians 2-2.

Up next: The Tigers head west to Tampa to take on the Yankees, whom they bounced from the ALDS last fall, on Monday. Right-hander Justin Verlander will start opposite left-hander Kei Igawa. The Indians will make the long journey to Port St. Lucie to face the Mets. Right-hander Jake Westbrook gets the starting nod against left-hander Oliver Perez.
