Indians at the plate: The Indians were hitless through five innings until Andy Marte singled off Scott Dohmann leading off the sixth.

Rays at the plate: Akinori Iwamura's infield single in the second inning extended the third baseman's hitting streak to four games. ... The Rays batted around in the six-run fourth, an inning highlighted by Carl Crawford's two-run triple with two outs. Ben Zobrist followed with a triple to drive in Crawford before Rocco Baldelli and Ty Wigginton had back-to-back doubles and Greg Norton had an RBI single to put the Rays up 7-0.

Indians on the mound: Jack Westbrook made his fifth start of the spring and got roughed up a bit when he allowed seven runs on 11 hits in four innings. The right-hander entered the game with a 0.82 ERA.

Rays on the mound: Right-hander Gary Glover made his first start of the spring and faced the minimum in three innings worked. A walk to Jason Michaels was the only blemish to his line. Catcher Josh Paul then threw out Michaels trying to steal second base.

Grapefruit League records: Indians 12-8; Rays 4-16.

Up next: The Rays will travel to Kissimmee on Wednesday to play the Astros in a 7:05 p.m ET contest at Osceola County Stadium. Right-hander James Shields will start for the Rays and will be opposed by right-hander Woody Williams. Of interest will be the performances of right-handers Brian Stokes and Seth McClung and left-hander Jeff Ridgeway, who are all competing for spots in the Rays' bullpen.

The Indians are off Wednesday and return to action Thursday night against the Tigers in a 6:05 contest in Lakeland. Right-hander Fausto Carmona will start for the Indians, while right-hander Jeremy Bonderman pitches for the Tigers.
