CLEVELAND -- The Indians filled their 40-man roster with a waiver claim on Monday.
Right-handed reliever Oneli Perez was claimed from the White Sox and optioned to Triple-A Buffalo. Perez, who turns 25 next week, was 0-1 with a 9.53 ERA in 14 appearances for Triple-A Charlotte. Last season, he was 6-2 with a 2.10 ERA and 16 saves in 59 appearances out of the bullpen at Double-A Birmingham. The Indians had an opening on their roster after outfielder Jason Tyner was designated for assignment last week.Anthony Castrovince is a reporter for MLB.com.
