BOSTON -- On Monday, it was Brad Snyder. On Tuesday, it was Reid Santos. The Indians parted with another member of their 40-man roster Tuesday, when left-hander Santos was claimed off outright waivers by the Blue Jays. Snyder was claimed a day earlier by the Cubs. The 26-year-old Santos was a 13th-round selection in the 2002 First-Year Player Draft. In '08, he made 29 relief appearances at Double-A Akron, going 2-1 with a 3.78 ERA, and 16 appearances at Triple-A Buffalo, going 2-2 with a 7.20 ERA. Santos, a native of Hawaii, still has two Minor League option years remaining. The Indians are clearing room on their 40-man for offseason acquisitions and Rule 5 Draft protections.
