CLEVELAND -- The real idle time is less than a week away for the Indians and White Sox, but the two clubs got an early taste of inactivity Tuesday. Tuesday's game between the two AL Central foes was postponed due to inclement weather and will be made up as part of a traditional doubleheader Wednesday. The doubleheader, which will serve as the final action of the season at Progressive Field, will begin at 4:05 p.m. ET. Those who held tickets to Wednesday's 7:05 p.m. game will see two games for the price of one. Those who had tickets to Tuesday's game can exchange them for the doubleheader or for any April or May home game in 2010, with the exception of Opening Day. Gates will open for the doubleheader at 3 p.m., and the second game will begin 20 minutes after the conclusion of the first. Both games will be shown locally on SportsTime Ohio. As a result of the rainout, the Indians bumped right-hander Justin Masterson, who was Tuesday's scheduled starter, back a day. He'll now pitch the nightcap of the doubleheader, with Fausto Carmona (4-12, 6.62 ERA) pitching the first game. Masterson (4-9, 4.79) had originally been scheduled to pitch the Tribe's season finale Sunday in Boston. But because that start would now come on short rest, Wednesday's start will be Masterson's last of the season. It's likely that Tomo Ohka (1-4, 5.45) will start in his place on Sunday.Anthony Castrovince is a reporter for MLB.com.
