Indians Press Release
Cleveland Indians Premier The Kids Clubhouse At Progressive Field May 6
CLEVELAND, OH --- The Cleveland Indians continue their commitment to creating memories, connecting generations of Tribe fans and celebrating families with the all-new Indians Kids Clubhouse located on the mezzanine level of Progressive Field. This exclusive kids’ play area will provide a safe and fun environment for young Tribe fans to experience family-friendly activities throughout the game while adults can have a view of the game. KeyBank Kids Fun Day plaza activities will relocate to the Indians Kids Clubhouse. The Clubhouse will be available during every home game beginning Sunday, May 6 to mark the first KeyBank Kids Fun Day of the 2012 season.
“Fan feedback drove our decision to create the Kids Clubhouse,” said Indians President MARK SHAPIRO. “Fans have stressed the importance of sharing memorable experiences with their families at Progressive Field, so we have built an area that can be enjoyed by fans from all generations—especially our youngest fans.”
The Indians Kids Clubhouse will provide entertainment for kids of all ages to enjoy throughout the season with two distinct play areas:
The Rookie Suite, presented by University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and Step 2, is geared towards kids aged six (6) and under. Rookie Suite features a 4,000 square foot indoor playground with arts & crafts, courtesy of Jo-Ann Fabric & Craft Stores; Step 2 activities; climbing wall and Slider entertainment area.
The Slugger’s Sandlot, presented by KeyBank, will offer grade-school aged children fun with great activities traditionally enjoyed during only KeyBank Kids Fun Days. This area designed for children seven (7) and up showcases activities including an outdoor playground featuring wiffle ball field, batting cage, base sliding, speed pitch, and video game area.
“With great views of the field along the first base line, parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles won’t miss any Tribe action while their little ones play” said Indians Director of Marketing SANAA JULIEN. “We’ve accomplished this by relocating the former KidsLand area and plaza activities to a larger area of the ballpark with indoor and outdoor accessibility. Additionally, we have added a kids’ concession stand, family restrooms and even a nursing room for moms. We hope this welcoming area becomes an extension of the memorable experiences families look forward to when coming to Progressive Field.”
Indians team mascot Slider and the Hot Dog mascots will make frequent visits to the Kids Clubhouse to entertain and greet the young Tribe fans. Fans in the Kids Clubhouse will face no additional costs and can even take advantage of a kids’ concession stand featuring specially priced kids-friendly items including, $2.50 hot dogs, $3.00 fruit cup, $5.75 kids’ meals and more.
