Indians recall RHP Fausto Carmona and RHP Jason Davis from AAA Buffalo

CLEVELAND -- Today, the Indians announced that they have recalled RHP FAUSTO CARMONA and RHP JASON DAVIS from AAA Buffalo. With the recall of Carmona and Davis the big league roster now stands at thirty-two (32).
Carmona, 21, was a combined 13-8 w/a 3.68 ERA in 27 games/26 starts between AAA Buffalo and AA Akron. He started his season at AA Akron going 6-5 w/a 4.07 ERA (90.2IP, 100H, 46R/41ER, 20BB, 57K) in 14 starts. He was then promoted to AAA Buffalo on June 21 and was 7-4 w/a 3.25 ERA (83.0IP, 76H, 32R/30ER, 15BB, 49K) in 13 games/12 starts. Carmona won each of his last 3 regular season outings and took the loss in Game 3 of the Bisons first round series vs. Indianapolis (7.0IP, 5H, 4R/ER). On the year, his 13 wins were 2nd most of any Indians minor league pitcher, while his 3.68 ERA was 10th best in the organization. This will be Carmona's 2nd stint on the Tribe roster as he was recalled on July 17th for one day. He will make his Major League debut and will wear #55.
Davis will begin his 4th stint with the Indians in 2005 after starting the season in the Indians rotation. In his three previous stints with Cleveland he has gone 4-2 w/a 4.69 ERA in 11 games/4 starts (40.1IP, 44H, 22R/21ER, 20BB, 32K). He has spent the rest of the season at AAA Buffalo where he was 8-5 w/a 4.61 ERA in 16 starts (95.2IP, 106H, 65R/49ER, 27BB, 77K). Davis was 1-0 w/a 4.00 ERA in 2 playoff starts (9.0IP, 9H, 4R/ER, 2BB, 5K). He wears #50.
