CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Indians today announced the club has reached a two-year agreement with WBNS Sports Radio 1460AM "THE FAN" to remain the Cleveland Indians radio home in Columbus, OH for the 2006 and 2007 seasons.

WBNS joined the Indians Radio Network in May of 2005 as both parties benefited greatly from the relationship. The presence of Indians baseball on "The Fan" gave the sports radio station a boost in the Columbus evening radio market, jumping from 17th (2004) to a tie for 3rd (2005) in the Columbus radio market among Men 25-54 in the "Summer Weeknight" Arbitron Ratings. The 2005 partnership was also highlighted by a "Big Show" appearance in June that included afternoon host and ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit and a WBNS bus caravan that traveled up from Columbus for the Reds series.

The Tribe's annual Press Tour Stop will be held in Columbus on Monday, January 23rd and the Indians and WBNS will announce more details on that event in the near future. In March, WBNS will also broadcast live programming from the Cleveland Indians Spring Training home in Winter Haven, FL.

"We are very excited to again be the Columbus radio home of the Cleveland Indians," said DAVE VAN STONE, Vice President-General Manager of RadiOhio Inc. and WBNS Sports Radio 1460AM the Fan. "2006 is shaping up to be a great year for both the Tribe and 1460 the Fan."
