Today the Indians conducted their first full squad workout. All 58 players are in camp and worked out today on the Winter Haven grounds...The Indians will again take part in a full squad workout tomorrow morning at 9:30 AM ET...

SIGNINGS: The Indians today agreed to terms on one-year Major League contracts with the following unsigned members of the club's 40-man roster: RHP RAFAEL BETANCOURT, RHP ANDREW BROWN, RHP JAKE DITTLER, CA KELLY SHOPPACH & RHP BRIAN SLOCUM...The Indians currently have 17 unsigned members on the 40-man roster...The deadline for renewal is March 11.

KINSTON COACH NAMED: The Cleveland Indians and Director of Player Development JOHN FARRELL today named JIM RICKON the coach at A Kinston of the Carolina League...Rickon has been a coach or player in the Indians farm system since being drafted out of Cleveland State in 1999.

OPENING DAY HURLER: LHP CC SABATHIA has been named the club's opening day starter by Manager ERIC WEDGE...Should Sabathia, 25, make the scheduled start it will mark his 3rd career opening day start (also 2003-04)...CC currently has the most career wins (69) of any major league pitcher under the age of 26...RHP Carlos Zambrano of the Chicago Cubs is 2nd with 48.

LITTLE RED MACHINE: EDUARDO PEREZ & LEE MAY, JR are both in Winter Haven currently and were seen working out together this morning at the Chain of Lakes complex...Perez (Tony Perez) and May's (Lee May) fathers each played with the Cincinnati Reds in the late 1960's and 1970's and combined for 4,763 hits in the big leagues...LEE MAY, JR is currently the manager of the Tribe's A Lake County Indians.
