The Cleveland Indians today recalled LHP Tony Sipp from AAA Columbus. He will be making his debut at the Major League level. To allow room on the 25-man roster the Indians optioned LHP Zach Jackson to AAA Columbus.

Sipp, 25, has made four appearances for the Clippers thus far, going 0-0 w/a 3.86 ERA (7.0IP, 8H, 3R/ER, 1HR, 5BB, 10K, .276AVG). He has limited Triple A left-handed hitters to 1 single in 10 at bats (.100AVG) and a 1 for 6 (.167) mark overall with runners in scoring position. Sipp was the 1337th selection (45th round) in the 2004 draft by Cleveland as he will be making his Major League debut wearing #49. He missed 2007 after left elbow reconstruction and split last season between AA Akron and A Kinston (combined 3.03 ERA in 21 games).

Jackson appeared in 2 games in relief for the Indians after opening the season on the Major League roster (4.2IP, 6H, 3R/ER).
