BP fuels Cleveland Indians fans with partnership and ticket promotion
Official fuel of the Cleveland Indians launches market-wide promotion and in-ballpark presence
Today, BP announced its partnership with the Cleveland Indians as the official fuel provider. The deal includes a market-wide retail promotion at BP sites throughout the remainder of the 2011 Major League Baseball season, as well as brand integration to enhance the fan experience at Progressive Field.
The partnership is part of BP's marketing strategy to further support one of its most important markets. Approximately 215 Northeast Ohio BP locations are participating in the retail promotion.
"BP is building on its commitment to local drivers and adding to the fan excitement following the start of the Indians season," said, Kevin Phelan, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "We're rewarding our customers for something they're already doing, which makes this offer especially convenient."
The retail promotion runs from June 1 to August 30, and customers that fill-up with ten gallons or more of BP gasoline with Invigorate, at participating BP stations, can go inside to receive a scratch-off game card that reveals a unique code. Each code must be registered at BPIndiansBaseball.com, and after registering five codes, fans receive a password good for two free Mezzanine tickets to an Indians game that can be redeemed at www.indians.com/BP.
BP and the Cleveland Indians will celebrate the partnership on Friday, June 3, with a public event that offers fans a chance to meet Indians legends Len Barker and Joe Charboneau and the Indians number one fan John Adams, compete for prizes and learn more about BP's involvement with the team.

"We are in the business of creating memories here at the ballpark and providing affordable family-friendly experiences for all to enjoy. The partnership with BP further extends an opportunity for added value for Indians fans throughout the region while filling up at the pump."
In addition to the retail promotion this summer, BP will bring fans closer to the game with a unique presence at Progressive Field, featuring numerous pregame activities. With exclusive naming rights to Indians batting practice, BP will reward select fans with VIP batting practice experiences at 40 home games from now until September 30, which includes special on-field access and a gift bag of promotional items.
To be eligible for the VIP experiences, ticketholders must be one of the first 100 to arrive for pre-game batting practice and receive a limited edition BP-branded Indians t-shirt at Gate A. Fans who don't receive a t-shirt can still win a BP gift card by catching specially marked balls hit into the outfield stands during batting practice.
