The traditional spring opener begins a schedule of 32 Spring Training contests, 19 of them at Goodyear Ballpark. The Indians will host 16 spring games and serve as the visitor for three others against the Reds, who share the same park. They'll host the Reds on Monday, April 2 before breaking camp and heading east for Opening Day against the Blue Jays at Progressive Field on Thursday, April 5.
The spring highlights include two visits from the two-time American League champion Texas Rangers, March 13 and 31. The latter of those matchups is a night game, slated for 7:05 p.m. Mountain Time, as is a March 23 matchup with the Angels. Both games will be followed by fireworks, bringing a Cleveland summer favorite to the spring slate.
Single-game tickets at Goodyear Ballpark range from $8 for berm seating to $12 for outfield reserved, up to $35 for terrace seating. Kids 12 and under get in at half price with the purchase of a regular single-game ticket in the outfield box, outfield reserved and berm areas. Seniors get $2-3 off those same sections for all weekday games. Students get up to $5 off in those sections during the traditional spring break period March 12-17.
Individual tickets go on sale Saturday, Dec. 17 at 10 a.m. MT (noon ET) at indians.com, the Goodyear Ballpark ticket office, by phone at 800-745-3000 or 866-48-TRIBE, and in person at Cleveland Indians team shops and select Ticketmaster ticket center locations in the Cleveland and Arizona areas.
Season-ticket plans include discounts ranging up to $5 per game off the single-game price, plus an array of discounts on concessions and merchandise. Interested fans can place a deposit on season tickets by calling the Goodyear Ballpark ticket office at 623-882-3130.
