Replay overturns Choo's leadoff homer
By Greg Zeck / MLB.com
Choo would score later in the inning on a passed ball that got by catcher Jose Molina with two outs to give Cleveland a 1-0 lead.
"After they made the call, we came in and watched the replay," Indians manager Manny Acta said. "It hit the yellow line and came back. At the beginning, from the dugout, we thought that it might've hit the top and then the back where it has that sign. But it was the right call."
There had been two previous replays at Tropicana Field on the season, both instances involving the catwalks above the field.
On April 7, Evan Longoria hit a ball off the B-ring catwalk that was originally called a home run but changed to a ground-rule double. B.J. Upton benefited from a changed call on May 21, when he hit a ball off the C-ring catwalk that was later changed to a homer after originally being ruled a double.
