Beyond that, Cleveland will get an early look at some of the premier talent in both leagues during the Cactus League schedule. The Indians and Reds -- who share a Spring Training complex -- will duel five times. The Tribe will also face the reigning World Series champion San Francisco Giants three times, the American League West champion Oakland Athletics three times, the Texas Rangers twice and both Los Angeles teams -- the Angels and Dodgers -- twice.
The Indians will play 17 games at home, two "away games" at Goodyear Ballpark against the Reds and 17 other tilts at other venues around Arizona, including Phoenix, Glendale, Mesa, Surprise, Salt River, Tempe and Scottsdale. The schedule includes seven meetings with AL Central foes Kansas City (four) and Chicago (three).
Pitchers and catchers are tentatively scheduled to report to Goodyear on Feb. 10, with the rest of the team joining on Feb. 13. The Indians will break camp on March 30. Terry Francona's squad commences the regular season against the Blue Jays in Toronto on April 2. The Indians host the Yankees for their home opener at Progressive Field on April 8.
Mini- and group-ticket plans for Spring Training go on sale on Dec. 10. Individual tickets will become available on Dec. 15 at indians.com. Season-ticket deposits for the exhibition campaign are already being accepted. Fans can also purchase travel packages, which include hotel accommodations, priority ballpark seating and meet and greets with the team.
