Asdrubal returns to lineup for Tribe

GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- Shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera was back in the starting lineup against the Reds on Saturday at Goodyear Ballpark in the last Spring Training game for both teams, a 9-1 victory for the Indians.
Cabrera missed a week of Cactus League action with back spasms he sustained taking some swings in the batting cage before the game here this past Sunday.
He was recovered enough to play in a Minor League game on Saturday, and manager Terry Francona projected Cabrera as a go for Tuesday night's opener against the Blue Jays in Toronto.
"Yeah, he's fine," Francona said. "He had five or six at-bats and actually wound up playing shortstop yesterday. So, he's also fine for Tuesday. I gave him the option to DH today, but he wanted to play [shortstop] so he's good. I don't think there was ever a concern about him getting ready to play. It was just getting him enough at-bats where he could shake some rust off."
Cabrera is batting .273 (9-for-33) this spring with three doubles, a triple, a homer, seven RBIs and seven runs scored in 19 games. He went 0-1 Saturday in two plate appearances and was replaced by a pinch-runner after he walked with one out in the third. A two-time American League All-Star, he hit .270 with 35 doubles last season.
Jason Giambi, who made the team earlier in the week, is the lone injury question mark heading into the season. The 42-year-old is on the disabled list because of a sore back and is eligible to be activated on April 9.
