Indians promote RHP C.C. Lee from AAA

CLEVELAND, OH - The Cleveland Indians today announced the following roster moves relative to the Major League roster:
Recalled RHP CHEN-CHANG (C.C.) LEE (#20) from the Triple-A Columbus Clippers.
Optioned RHP DANNY SALAZAR to AAA Columbus.
Lee, 26, has compiled no record and a 2.84ERA in 6 relief outings for Triple-A Columbus this year (6.1IP, 3H, 2R/ER, 3BB, 12K), limiting batters to a .136 (3-22) average against. His season started on May 29 with 2 appearances at A Lake County as he rehabbed back from June 1, 2012 reconstructive surgery on his right pitching elbow. He also appeared in 8 games at AA Akron before joining Columbus on June 26, where left-handed batters have gone 0-for-9 off him.
The Peng-Hu County, Taiwan native was originally signed by Cleveland in September of 2008 and is making his debut at the Major League level. When he appears he will be the first Indians player to hail from Taiwan, the ninth overall in Major League history and just the second active player from the island nation, joining Baltimore LHP Wei-Yin Chen. He pitched in the 2009 World Baseball Classic for Chinese Taipei and 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Salazar, 23, won his Major League debut yesterday vs. Toronto (6.0IP, 2H, 1R/ER, 7K), the most strikeouts by an Indians pitcher making his MLB debut since 1964 (Luis Tiant).
