Braves can't solve Harvey, Wheeler in doubleheader
After coming up short in their bid to rally late against Matt Harvey in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader at Turner Field, the Braves were unable to solve Zack Wheeler as he enjoyed a successful Major League debut and helped the Mets complete a sweep with a 6-1 win in the nightcap.

Wood battles elements in first big league start
This was not the ideal situation for Alex Wood to make his first Major League start. The highly regarded Braves pitching prospect had not thrown more than 35 pitches in any of the six relief appearances he had made since joining Atlanta's bullpen on May 30. The left-hander struggled with his command and lasted just three innings in a 4-3 loss to the Mets.

His hard work was credited to the fact that he went nearly a full year without experiencing any of the expected setbacks.
