Grady Sizemore led off the opener with a home run and the Indians never relented en route to their first Opening Day win since 2002. C.C. Sabathia, not overpowering, but effective, brushed off his recent injury to pick up his first victory. Trot Nixon had three hits and Victor Martinez and Jhonny Peralta each drove in three runs.
