With Petco Park ideally located at the hub of San Diego County's public transportation network, taking the Trolley, Coaster or bus to the ballpark area is a convenient way to go.
Ride the Trolley to the Ballpark
Three (3) San Diego Trolley stations - 12th and Imperial, Park (12th) and Market and the Gaslamp Quarter Station (Fifth Avenue and Harbor Drive) serve Petco Park. All three Trolley lines-Orange, Blue and Green-provide direct service to and from the ballpark. This means fans can choose any one of more than 50 stations and board direct service to Petco Park! Park-and-Ride Lots, with more than 5,000 parking spaces, are located along all Trolley lines. In addition, there are 5,000 FREE parking spots available at Qualcomm Stadium (excluding major event days at Qualcomm Stadium). Additional parking is available at Hazard Center (lower levels only) on nights and weekends.
Padres fans can purchase and store game-day Trolley passes on their mobiles phones for all games! Get MTS's free mobile ticketing app by searching for "mTicket" in the App Store or on Google Play. Family Weekends: Every Saturday & Sunday, two children (12 and under) can ride Trolley for free with any paying adult (18 and over).
Take the COASTER from North County
The COASTER train is a convenient way to travel from North County to every Padres home game. Easily accessible with free parking from coastal communities, the COASTER lets you avoid summer traffic on Interstate-5. Northbound COASTER train departs Santa Fe Depot 60 minutes after the end of the game or fireworks, with an absolute departure of midnight. This train runs for all Padres home games EXCEPT certain mid-week day games which are serviced by regularly scheduled trains.
RegionPlus Day Passes are available for $12.00 per person and include round trip on COASTER and Trolley connections to Petco Park. Children 5 and under ride free. COASTER schedules and prices are subject to change. Pre-sold RegionPlus Day Passes are available at NCTD Transit Centers in Oceanside, Vista and Escondido during business hours. Consumption or possession of open containers of alcoholic beverages is strictly prohibited on the COASTER, and all NCTD vehicles and property.
Take Amtrak Pacific Surfliner from Orange County and Los Angeles
Amtrak Pacific Surfliner offers 12 trips each day to Santa Fe Depot in downtown San Diego from Los Angeles, Orange County and North San Diego County. MTS Buses Serve the Ballpark
Many convenient bus routes serve Petco Park, including Routes 11, 901 & 929 which stop right at the ballpark's front door at Park Boulevard and 10th Avenue. Routes 4, 11, 901 & 929 also stop at the 12th and Imperial Transit Center, just two blocks away. Routes 3 and 5 stop along Market Street, a short walk to the ballpark. The San Diego Bay Ferry departs from the Coronado Ferry Landing Shopping Center to 5th Ave Landing (behind the Convention Center) starting at 9:10 a.m. and recurring every half-hour until 9:40 p.m (10:40 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays). Returning from 5th Ave Landing to Coronado starting at 9:25 a.m. and recurring every half-hour until 9:55 p.m. (10:55 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays). The ferry costs $4.75 per person, each way.
